It seems like the year is properly in full swing, and the pace is picking up for all of us. Our Hamilton Centre team has several workshops and activities in the next couple of months to look out for and pop into your diary – but I also hope we all get some downtime with family, friends and in nature over the Easter break.
On 9 April, our team will be heading to Warragul to deliver our first regional workshop of the year, focusing on pharmacotherapy for co-occurring conditions. Mental health and AOD workers in the Gippsland region are invited to join us – registrations are now open.
This month also marks an important milestone for our clinical network. Our clinical partners at Austin Health and Goulburn Valley Health have now supported over 1,000 referrals across their region.
It’s encouraging to see the impact this team has made through their commitment to regional collaboration, including travelling across a large catchment to deliver in-services, training and supervision.
Across Victoria, Hamilton Centre clinical network teams have now been supporting Area Mental Health and Wellbeing, MH Locals and AOD residential withdrawal services for almost three years, helping strengthen integrated care across the system. You can learn more about the work of the Goulburn Valley team here.
Improving access to care also means ensuring services are responsive to the needs of Aboriginal communities. Research shows that culturally safe approaches can support stronger engagement and better outcomes.
On 23 April, we’ll be hosting a full-day workshop focused on strengthening understanding of wellbeing from an Aboriginal perspective and building confidence in delivering responsive care. Places are limited – register your spot here.
This topic will also be explored in the final module of our online self-assessed modules program. Keep an eye out for updates in the coming weeks. To fit into busy schedules, these modules have been designed to be self-paced, self-assessed and to be saved and returned to. As always, we’re keen to get feedback on how you found them, so please let us know.
If you’d like to talk more about anything in this update or explore how we can support your team, our door is open.
You can also follow us on LinkedIn to stay in the loop with new training, resources and initiatives to support your work.
