Hamilton Centre’s Clinical Network Partners from Goulburn Valley Health are making remarkable strides in integrated care, working closely with mental health services in the region to open minds and open doors for people with co-occurring needs.
In April, Hamilton Centre Clinical Director A/Prof Shalini Arunogiri and Eastern Health Statewide Services Program Director Denis Hovic visited Shepparton to meet with A/Prof Ravi Bhat, Prof Edward Ogden PSM and the dedicated team at Goulburn Valley Health. Their discussions highlighted the significant impact integrated care is having across Goulburn Valley Health and across the wider region, all the way to Mildura Health and Albury Wodonga Health.
During their visit, the leaders heard all about the transformation of frontline clinical care, including access to addiction specialist and multidisciplinary assessments, changes in clinical practice, increased support for clinicians, and the expansion of a nurse practitioner network that is receiving ongoing training and mentoring in the region.
The team at Goulburn Valley Health is leading the way in demonstrating how integrated care can transform the delivery of services for regional Victorians,” said A/Prof Arunogiri. “We’re incredibly proud to be part of this network and to see such meaningful change in action.”
