Hamilton Centre - v1.5

What is this service?

The Hamilton Centre Advice Line is here to make it easier for healthcare workers to access information, support, or guidance related to working with clients who have co-occurring mental health and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) conditions. Our advice is available via phone or email, and can be general or client-specific.

This service is designed for Victorian healthcare workers at any stage of their career/level of experience who may be seeking information or advice while navigating complex cases.

Our team includes experienced Mental Health and AOD Social Workers and Nurses, who provide individualised support to clinicians across the state.

If appropriate, we can also connect you to other service options, such as the AOD Pathways.

What types of questions can I ask?

No question is too big or small – all client-related questions are welcome!

Some of the topics we can assist with include:

  • Harm minimisation

  • Medication challenges

  • The intersection of substance use and mental health

  • Advice on accessing detox services

  • Understanding mental health support

These are just examples; feel free to ask about anything related to your work with clients experiencing co-occurring conditions.
