Effective and inclusive therapeutic relationships play a significant role in the treatment of people with co-occurring mental health and addiction issues, as well as their families and supporters. This is the core idea explored in this training module, which offers valuable insights into the key features of therapeutic relationships, the principles of effective engagement, and the challenges of building these relationships in the context of peer work and with families and carers.
This training module encourages participants to pause and reflect on the content and their personal and professional experiences. The case study presented throughout the module provides learners with questions for further reflection, which can be used for individual study or to guide group discussions.
By completing this module, participants will understand the importance of therapeutic relationships, the key features and principles of effective engagement, and ways to improve integrated care practice.
