This award highlights the Centre's co-design consultation report, developed in collaboration with design researchers from Monash Art, Design and Architecture (MADA).
The co-design process brought together over 40 organisations to help translate the Royal Commission's Recommendation 36 into actionable changes for Victoria's mental health system. The report's success in shaping the Hamilton Centre's development has been celebrated as a model for innovative service design.
Since its opening in April 2023, the Centre has made significant strides in supporting integrated care delivery for co-occurring mental health and addiction issues, with over 1,500 referrals, more than 500 training enrolments, and a number of educational and research projects underway.
This award follows the Centre's recent win at Australia's International Good Design Award for excellence in design and innovation.
The Hamilton Centre extends its gratitude to MADA for their collaboration, the dedicated team at the Centre, and its clinical network for their ongoing commitment to improving care for Victorians.
