The session sparked meaningful discussions, with participants highlighting the value of learning about pharmacotherapy medications and treatments for co-occurring presentations.
Two standout moments included a talk by Hamilton Centre Peer Educator Lee Ann, who shared her lived experience and insights into supporting people with co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges, and case studies co-presented by local Nurse Practitioner Leighlan Phillips and Clinical Lead Allison Page from our Austin & Goulburn Valley Health clinical team.
Reflecting on these moments, Hamilton Centre Senior Pharmacist and presenter Alice Frank spoke about the impact of local examples in fostering collaboration:
We saw participants sharing real-life examples from their work, while others stepped in to offer advice and support. It’s more than just training; it’s about bringing regional services together to better support clients in the region,” she said.
