Understanding co-occurring conditions and the challenges to their treatment is the first step towards inclusive and successful integrated care. In this module participants will learn about the prevalence and impact of mental illness co-occurring with alcohol or other drug conditions. They will also explore the factors that connect them, different approaches to recovery, and the barriers and enablers to integrated care.
The case study presented throughout the module provides learners with questions for further reflection, which can be used for individual study or to guide group discussions.
At the end of this module, participants will have a deeper understanding of co-occurring conditions, their frequency, and their impact on individuals. With this knowledge, they will be better equipped to provide optimal and effective care.
