The Hamilton Centre Service Navigation Team has recently welcomed three new skilled professionals - a Senior Social Worker, a Mental Health credentialed Social Worker, and a Senior Mental Health Nurse. Incorporated into the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Pathways area, the team offers individualised advice and mentorship to clinicians across Victoria.
Who can benefit?
The Hamilton Centre Advice and Mentorship Line is designed for all Mental Health and AOD workers across Victoria at any stage of their career/level of experience who may be looking for information or advice while navigating complexity or wishing to enhance their skills.
If appropriate, the team can also link to other service options that support individuals, families and friends who have had difficulty accessing drug and alcohol treatment (e.g. AOD Pathways).

Collaborative progress
The Hamilton Centre is constantly looking to expand and improve its services and values feedback on the specific support service providers need to carry out their important work. If you ever feel unsure about how to manage conversations with clients related to substance use, how to implement harm minimisation planning, or if you have general inquiries about working with individuals who are dealing with co-occurring addiction and mental health issues, please do not hesitate to contact us. The Centre’s team is always happy to assist you.
Irina Hart, Manager of the Hamilton Centre, emphasises:
We are very excited to launch our Advice and Mentorship Line to make it easy for service providers to access much-needed support and guidance, build further workers’ capabilities around navigating sensitive cases, strengthen their professional confidence and achieve better outcomes for people experiencing co-occurring conditions."
